In The Operation of the Heavens, The Planets Suite by Gustav Holst is transformed using a method modeled on ancient alchemy. The method was not one of sampling a recorded performance of the Suite. Rather, the base elements of Holst's music were reconfigured to bring about new sounds.
Astronomy, the oldest science and the offspring of astrology, also gives shape to the music. Astronomy remains colored with some of the mysticism of the stargazers of antiquity. This music is meant to be evocative. Further interpretation remains.

A 16-page book of images and text has been created to accompany the music. The book is an integral part of the work and is included with each purchase.
